Century Media Records earlier this month, welcomed Washington DC based PERIPHERY to the CM family as licensing partner for the world outside of North America, Australia, New Zealand and Japan and will be releasing the highly anticipated new album “Periphery II”,
Due to the US release date being 3rd July we will be releasing the album digitally on 2nd July and following up with the physical CD release on 16th July, which will feature exclusive bonus material
Combining the complex atypical rhythms and technical precision of math rock with the sensational brutality of progressive metal, PERIPHERY have redefined the boundaries of progressive music.
With their signature blend of polymeric grooves and soaring melodies, they will continue to push the envelope of modern metal music.
The band’s first European headline tour in early 2011 titled ‘The League of Extraordinary Djentlemen’ with TESSERACT, MONUMENTS and THE SAFETY FIRE was a huge success that was followed by the release of their “Icarus”- EP in April 2011. In January/February 2012 PERIPHERY was direct support to the legendary Dream Theater on their European tour. Since the two bands went along great and became friends, John Petrucci laid down a guest solo for “Periphery II”. Additionally Wes Hauch (The Faceless) and Guthrie Govan (The Aristocrats) did some shredding for the new masterpiece.
Having just returned home after playing this years renowned Rock am Ring/Rock im Park in Germany as well as a headlining set on the Pepsi Max Stage at Download they will soon be embarking on the North American Summer Slaughter tour (along with Cannibal Corpse, Between The Buried And Me, The Faceless, Job for a Cowboy…) to return to UK & Europe in October for an extensive tour with Between The Buried And Me and The Safety Fire
