Konkoma is a London based afrobeat, funk, jazz and soul band created around two highly regarded Ghanaian musicians – Alfred Bannerman and Emmanuel Rentzos who are long term members of the Afro-rock band Osibisa. Ghanaian musicians Nii Tagoe and Reginald ‘Jojo’ Yates have also joined Konkoma.

Their self-titled debut album Konkoma is released on June 25th, 2012 on the Soundway label. Produced by Max Grunhard and Ben Lamdin, it was recorded and mixed by Mike Pelanconi .

Konkoma uses its 1970s roots to create a rich blend of rhythms with a progressive edge. It’s impressive music with an intricate texture that makes you want to dance. With both a traditional and contemporary sound, the album has an excellent and tight fusion created by talented musicians.
