Maria Doyle Kennedy is an Irish actress and singer songwriter who is well known for her part as Queen Katherine of Aragon in the award winning The Tudors. She’s influenced by Patti Smith and Marianne Faithful. As a renaissance woman she’s performed worldwide for two decades.

Am I Choosing Right is the first single from her 5^th album Sing, due out on August 13^th, 2012. The album was co-written with husband Kieran Kennedy and features duets with John Prine, Damien Rice and Paul Brady.

Maria creates fine, delightful folk and, as an accomplished singer, sings daily. This is an uplifting and passionate song which grows gradually and inspires the listener to be soulful and thoughtful. It’s a slow, gentle number from a gifted and versatile artist with a deep voice who “cannot imagine a world without music.”

She’ll be touring soon with the songs from Sing and contributing to the Uncommon Folk project, re-imagining folk songs that have been important to America.
