“Back to You” is the debut single from singer-songwriter Michael Emmerson due to be released on June 18th via Discipline Music. “Back to You” is a beautiful ballad that immediately strikes me as the type of song that would be a perfect soundtrack to a romantic movie. Emmerson’s smooth vocals are very easy on the ear and along with the gentle piano accompaniment it makes for very easy listening. The song picks up a bit of pace and momentum in the chorus when drums and guitars are added into the mix to give the song a fuller sound.
A multi instrumentalist and an avid songwriter, Emmerson’s vocals and song writing ability would remind you a little bit of Gary Barlow’s work but Emmerson manages to bring a fresh, youthful sound to this style.
