In Remission’s six-track EP The Great and Shallow explores a mixture of pop-punk and post-rock. Opener Fractions, an angular, catchy-yet-convulse track, sets the tone for the whole record. The light post-rock influence (clearest in tracks like Discilpline) adds bite and convincing power to this release, pointing to an original future for In Remission.
