Late Night Tales – Tom Findlay
aaamusic | On 10, Jun 2012
This 18 track album features hits from the 70’s and 80’s that Tom Findlay, of Groove Armada fame, has compiled, re-edited, and mixed. The album includes hits such as 10cc’s ‘I’m Not in Love’ and Robert Palmer’s ‘Every Kind of People’.
The album helps to show the youth of today what brilliant music was being produced in past decades whilst also re-igniting the love of the songs for people that were dancing away to the music in the 70’s and 80’s. I think albums like this are important for the music industry – you need to know about the past to appreciate the present and to understand the developments that have been made over time.
The album as a whole is like a little ray of sunshine in your life. It will have the power to instantly transport people to a happy, sunny place of their choice. For me, I can imagine running along the beach with this album playing in my ears and not having a care in the world. Who knows where it will take you?
I’m a fan of the older music – in fact I probably prefer it to the music scene of today so this album is absolutely incredible for me. Even as a fan of music from the 70’s and 80’s, there were still tracks that I was able to discover on this album so it was an exciting journey to take when listening to it, because it has to be said, this album will take you on a journey – whether it’s a journey of past memories or a journey of discovery, it’ll be a journey nonetheless.
It’s the perfect summertime album but, equally, it’ll be fantastic to put on in the midst of winter so you can drift off to your sunny place and forget about the cold weather and dull sights around you.
This album proves that Tom Findlay has great taste in music and a magical touch. It’s amazing!
