After a minute long, nigh on ambient opening, any track would have to be damn good to pay off such an audacious intro. Fortunately enough Into The Night is that damn good, but not in the way one might think. Caan has made some as subtle as it is anthemic, something that creeps up on the listener and integrates itself into their consciousness as opposed to twatting them round the head with chorus’ the size of Belgium. It’s pretty damn fantastic, being intriguing enough on the first couple of listens to warrant more of them; and given time it becomes a different beast altogether, melodic, fascinating, catchy all at the same time. It may not be for everyone, nothing ever is and anything that’s created to be for everyone will invariably fail, but if one is patient enough to let this unfold and gradually reveal everything it has to offer, then one will discover something utterly indispensable. Highly recommended.
