Young Kato – Drink, Dance, Play

| On 05, Jun 2012

With a slow synth fade in and melodic piano, the punchy harmonies make an interesting contrast. The backing harmonies provide the base and carry the entire song; they make a nice distinction from the more calm and melodic lead vocals. The song is an intriguing contrast between calm and energetic moods. The song is about living every day like it is your last, which is shown very well through the energy levels.

The synth and guitar combo gives the song an eighties pop feel. The band have been compared to the Smiths which I don’t really get, still the single is a catchy slice of indie pop. Fun, but nothing drastic or challenging. The care-free nature of the song topic conveys the style of music very well.
