Huge Mistake is the debut EP from Long Island punk-ska band All New Episode.

The EP opens with “Ode to MJ” a song with a quintessential ska song- complete with drum rolls, syncopated guitars, attitude-filled vocals and even changing tempos throughout. This song has a strong melody and a catchy chorus- however at many points the vocals are drowned out by the music. “Take a Ride” is another upbeat track but with an angry edge- the guitars and drums are ferocious instruments that are almost battling with one another, while the vocals weave in and out of the mix.
Title track “Huge Mistake” begins with high intensity and this energy remains constant throughout the entire track- the energy is never lost. The thrashing drums keep a fast paced tempo that gives this song a frantic sound. All New Episode will not be everyone’s cup of tea- their punk-ska sound is very full on, they don’t do anything by halves. But any fans of this genre or even fans of more pop influenced punk bands such as Paramore and Sum 41 will appreciate this EP.
