Mission To Lars annouces cinema tour

| On 03, Jun 2012

Finally the film everyone has been talking about is to hit the theatres of the UK. Mission To Lars will be on tour! Lars Ulrich is a heavy metal God, the drummer of Metallica. Tom Spicer has Fragile X, a form of autism, and lives in a care home in a sleepy Devon seaside town. Lars is touring the world, playing to 30,000 howling metal fans every night. Meanwhile Tom has had a dream for 20 years: to meet his hero, Lars. Tom’s siblings, Kate and Will, feel guilty that they don’t do enough for their brother so they make Tom’s dream their mission.

The uplifting documentary Mission to Lars will be premiered at Hackney Picturehouse on June 6th at 9 p.m. There will be a Q&A with its directors chaired by Richard Bacon after the screening.

The film will then be shown in Picturehouse theatres nationwide throughout June and July.

Directed by James Moore & William Spicer this is a film that looks beyond disability, and uncovers the soul of a very cool guy. Mike Lindsay from Tunng scores, and the soundtrack includes Bob Dylan, Devendra Banhart and Blur.
