Raw, untamed and razor sharp – a hot new breed of pure unadulterated rock n roll hits the UK in the incredible form of guitarist/singer/songwriter : Bogdana Chivas. Collaborating with Grammy Award winner producer Simon Gogerly on this debut single and upcoming album,‘Great Life’ sees her powerful crystalline vocals punch an indelible stamp across a dominant bed of energetic guitar riffs and compelling drum beats.  Cleverly using lyrics like colours across a musical canvass, ‘Great Life’, boldly addresses the controversial topic of prostitution by painting a vivid picture through her musical tale, with an accompanying realistic  voyeuristic music video shot in Paris’s Bois Boulogne and Amsterdam prostitution strips.

 

The Chivas sound is an eclectic melting-pot of the great rock n roll talents thrown together then resurrected in a fresh new sound that’s purely unique to Bogdana and is currently picking up praise from BBC Radio Liverpool, BBC 3 Counties, Q Radio, Music Week, Record Collector, Red and Female First .  Her inspirations span the full rock spectrum from Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and Van Halen, right through to Chrissie Hynde, Patti Smith and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers .

 

As a songwriter, Bogdana injects life-long wisdom and pathos into her lyrics that can only come from someone who’s endured and survived unbearable hardship, challenges and heartbreak.  This Parisian-bred but now London based Bulgarian songstress, fled the Eastern Bloc with her parents when she was just a young child.  The suffering and destitution that comes hand-in-hand with the trauma of starting from scratch as an immigrant took its mental toll on the young Bogdana .However after watching a life changing performance by a master guitarist, Bogdana picked up a guitar and strummed her way through 10 hour practice days until she became a fully accomplished self-taught musician. Music was her savior and this is her  musical story of inspirational survival ……
