Genna Marabese’s new single We Are Animal is a bold release with a strong Americana influence. Its distorted yet piercing guitar sounds remind one of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s early days, while Genna’s croon sounds like a grittier, denser Anna Calvi. The b-side Walls takes all these elements even further and is an outstanding piece of haunted rock and roll. This single is a fantastic statement of intent; a woman on a creative mission.
