Lee Mitchell Announces Second EP ‘Water’

| On 17, May 2012

Lee Mitchell returns with the closing instalment of his 2-part EP releases ‘Whisky’ and ‘Water’. Just as its well-received predecessor, ‘Water’ is a crafty pop folk offering which showcases Lee’s flair for engaging narrative and astute songwriting.

‘Whisky’ and ‘Water’ are presented as two sides of the same coin – whilst Whisky spoke of trouble and heartache, Water reflects lighter and more joyful moments – despite both being created at the same period in Lee’s life.

Hailing from the small Northern Irish town of Bangor, Lee counts Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club, Duke Special, Foy Vance and Van Morrison as his fellow townsmen. But a year or two ago, instead of piggy backing the success of his contemporaries, Lee embarked solo on a self-booked tour of Europe – taking in shows all over Holland, Germany, France and Austria. He subsequently accrued a well-deserved budding international fanbase.

Once back on home soil Lee attracted growing interest and has since supported the likes of Jamie Woon, Joan as Policewoman, Ane Brun, Tilly and the Wall, Josh Doyle (The Dum Dums), Ella Edmundson and Joey Cape.

It was in light of these performances and the constant question from fans, ‘Where can I buy your music?’ that Lee decided to hit the studio and commit his beautifully crafted tracks to record.

“Whisky and Water explore the journey of trial and error in life, overcoming hardship and enjoying good things, finally reaching a conclusion in hope. That, or just some nice songs” Says Lee.
