The Dear & Departed @ Upstairs At The Garage

| On 15, May 2012

London, 11th May

Echotape are a mood breed of indie, that sound like they take influences from Ride, My Vitriol and other moody bands from that genre. They are not really a live band this is a CD band you can imagine listening to this on a journey home after a night out. It is chilled and mellow and it is like the headliners heartfelt and the singer has an amazing voice so check out their EP ‘Sky above Quarley Hill’ which is out now.

The Dear & Departed are coming straight from a support slot on tour with Alkaline Trio and this is their day off and they decided to play an intimate show for their UK fans before playing another intimate show supporting Alkaline Trio the next day at the London Barfly. They hit into their brand of post hardcore mixed with the 80’s/90’s sound of artists such as Morrissey and Joy Division. They have an in built sound that came their naturally like it was always meant to be there. They play through songs that are heartfelt and mean something to the band and the people in the room tonight from the haunting song ‘Matter of Time’ which could quite be the anthem to my break ups or your break ups or things that go wrong in the world and they really hit a chord with the listener. This is a band that just gets, better and better and really has something to say and I have fallen in love with in the last year. Your girlfriends may have departed but your left with a great sound to accompany your life.
