North Atlantic Oscillation / Mothlite @ Tabernacle

| On 15, May 2012

London, 2nd May
Mothlite Daniel O’Sulivan comes on stage dressed as a moth and there is some what of a morbid beauty about the whole thing. He is looking like a cross between a moth and a tortured Pete Burns but it sends shivers down your spine has they burst into an atmospherical beautiful sound. They perform slightly different versions of songs off their debut album ‘Dark Age’ which is a dark path into the weird life of an alternate world. This is the launch for that album and see them show great renditions of the record from the Vast Esq single ‘Something in the Sky’ which is one of my personal highlights of the set to songs like the haunting ‘Disappear’ . This is a important band for the alternative genre. The last song is performed as a satanic lion which has taken over Daniel’s body for it’s evil doings showing their are many depths to this band.

North Atlantic Oscillation are also here to release their new record ‘Fog Electric’ and have some nice visuals for it on the screens behind them. They don’t really seem in the food for playing tonight and the sound is really bad, you can actually hear them better from the other room where the bar is and that is not an excuse this time to go to the bar. They do kick up their game later into the set with the drummer being the main member of the band to decide he has been too laid back and need to up their gain but the set just doesn’t really leave you with anything to write about and leaves you on them just being bland.
