Anna Ternheim is an award winning Swedish singer-songwriter who performs rock, indie, blues, country, acoustic and alternative music. She sings in English. Her last album, Leaving on a Mayday, won considerable critical acclaim in her native land.
The Night Visitor, her fifth album, was produced by Matt Sweeney in Nashville and features guest appearances from Will Oldham and Jack Clement. It’s released on June 5th, 2012 on V2 Records.
Solitary Move has warm tones which mix sensitively with the instrumentation. Bow Your Head has a beautiful psychedelic atmosphere with classical cellos which gradually develop into a magnificent chorus. There’s a touching acoustic guitar in Ghost of a Man.
Anna’s pure, clear and simple vocals have a timeless elegance inspired by different types of music. Her breezy and pleasant songs have vivid images and are very emotional. She has a fragile and natural voice combined with a strong personal presence. The album is a fine, classy mix of Nordic and American folk.
