The Coronas’ new album and UK tour in May

| On 28, Apr 2012

Ireland has been home to some of the most influential artists and Dublin band The Coronas are no exception. This platinum-selling four piece have established themselves as the current biggest-selling independent group in Ireland, and following their SOLD OUT show at London’s iconic Borderline in April they have proven they are ready to take on the UK with the release of their hit single Addicted To Progress on May 21st 2012.

Taken from their forthcoming album ‘Closer To You’, Addicted To Progress is a snappy, melodic slice of Indie / Pop, featuring a killer guitar riff, electro synths under anthemic vocals. Hooky as hell, it’s no wonder it remained in the top 5 Irish Airplay charts for over 13 weeks!

The band are renowned for their high-energy live shows, which have made them one of the country’s most popular attractions. The band have shared the stage with some of music’s most influential acts such as Paul McCartney, Pink and The Script. With an ever-growing fan base, the band have sold out Dublin’s Olympia 6 nights running, and held their own at prestigious European festivals such as Benicassim and Hard Rock Calling.

With a string of awards under their belt, The Coronas platinum-selling 2009 album “Tony Was An Ex-Con” shot straight to #1 in the Irish Indie and iTunes charts and won the guys a prestigious Meteor Award for album of the year beating the likes of U2, The Script and Snow Patrol.

Closer To You (out May 28th) is the band’s eagerly anticipated follow-up album, produced by studio legend Tony Hoffer (Air, Beck, The Kooks, Belle and Sebastian) and showcases the boys at their best. Full of catchy, melodic guitar based tracks, this is going to give the band the across the board recognition they deserve.
