MISS DAVINA LEE – It’s A Love

Miss Davina Lee Cooke is a singer songwriter from North West London who grew up listening to Madonna and Salt n Pepa and was later inspired by Nirvana and PJ Harvey.
Her band comprises Davina Lee Cooke, Roald Hellum, Angus Wilson, Gareth Ashton and Jenny Green.
It’s a Love, her ten track debut album, was recorded at The Coconut Lodge and will be released by Smooth Exchange on 30th April, 2012.
Bedbugs featured on a Hewlett Packard advertisement and its popularity drove them towards an album release. Dreams, an intense and engaging vocal, is well executed and a credit to the production skills of Roald Madland. Shake is a retro punk rock song with an edgy and exciting feel.
Some will love this electro indie art rock with its soft, hushed vocals and stomping beats. Others will find the album moderately enjoyable but nothing exceptional. They’ll see it as promising and catchy in places, whilst recognising the considerable potential.
Track list: Alison, Comforter, Shake, Blue & Green, Hold On, Bedbugs, Dreams, Come On, Blue & Green Redux & This Love.
