theLights – Teenager of the Century

theLights are a five piece melodic alt pop band from the heart of the UK, out now with “Teenager of the Century”, their debut album produced by Gavin Monaghan, driven by the single “Days Don’t Get Me Far Enough Away”, released on 23rd April.
An infectious guitar meets the blown vocals of the singer Liz Shiels, accompanied by gentle choirs in a folk -pop sauce that will be definitely appreciated by the most. It’s the kind of summer song that you will play on your ipod during the trip to a music festival, you will play the air banjo and will scream “far enough away from youuuuu darling”. You can see yourself, can’t you?
This band has made a very remarkable debut, saving the country legacy and taking it from the hands of Mumford& Sons and Laura Marling to turn it into a catchy song shaded with a veil of melancholy.
On the background a slide guitar gives the tune a Hawaiian atmosphere, but the song is 100% British like the Lights, already highly recommended for their live performance, hence catch them during this summer and sing-along “Days Don’t Get Me Far Enough Away”.
