KRYSTLE WARREN AND THE FACULTY Love Songs – A Time You May Embrace

| On 22, Apr 2012

Krystle Warren is a Missouri singer songwriter compared with Nina Simone and Tracy Chapman. Her influences are Dusty Springfield, Paul Simon, Bill Withers, and Donny Hathaway. Elegantly she fuses soulful balladry and scat jazz with echoes of ragtime, waltz time, gospel and country. She’s also appeared in folk tributes to Nick Drake.
Her 2009 debut album Circles received much critical acclaim. It showed her as a mature artist with a remarkable vocal range.
Love Songs, her second album, was released on 2nd April, 2012 by Parlour Door Music. She produced and recorded it live in Brooklyn with a total of 28 musicians including The Faculty, where she combined choirs, horn and string sections.
Swinging opener Tuesday Morning has a staccato string quartet whilst Five Minutes Late is Dixieland jazz with a curious playfulness. Every Morning reveals her deep, husky voice range and extraordinary vocal talent. In I Worry Less the addition of slide guitar and organ gives the track a distinctive classic feel.
There’s a warm and tender glow to Krystle Warren’s self-assured, personal and very individual style. With that smoky, intense voice, there’s something new, expressive and refreshing about her through the eyes of a growing international following.
Track Listing: Tuesday Morning , Five Minutes Late , Forever Is A Long Time Every Morning, You Can Take Me With You, I Worry Less, Little Wonder, The One Who Takes You Home, Your Many Coloured Days, Every Other Day, The Clod And The Pebble, Love You.
