Sweet Lights (ex-Kurt Vile & The War On Drugs) debut album out 30th April

| On 08, Apr 2012

On Monday 30th April 2012 ex-Kurt Vile & War On Drugs guitarist Shai Halperin will release his self-titled debut LP under the moniker SWEET LIGHTS.

Halperin’s musical journey began in his hometown of Philadelphia with The Capitol Years, in which Kurt Vile and Adam Granduciel both featured. It was while touring throughout the US with The Capitol Years that a friendship and close working relationship with Daniel Johnston blossomed which began with Shai’s cover of Johnston’s ‘True Love Will Find You in the End’. The affiliation with these renowned songwriters is reflective throughout the debut, with Halperin marshalling the classic elements of modern pop music and displaying his own songwriting credentials with a masterful mixture of dynamic, genre-bending song craft, innovative arrangements and surreal, poignant lyricism.
