JACQUI MCSHEE’S PENTANGLE @ The Half Moon Putney

Pentangle have made innovative music since the late 60s and early 70s when they dominated the music scene and helped make British folk rock international.
Since the 90s the group has been: Jacqui McShee (vocals), Gerry Conway (drums and percussion), Spencer Cozens (keyboards, sequences, backing vocals), Alan Thomson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Gary Foote (flute and saxophones).
Pentangle classics like Light Flight, Once I Had A Sweetheart and A Maid That’s Deep In Love still felt fresh and original whilst numbers from Passé Avant, an album very different in style, were graceful and charming.
Pentangle always were a rare talent. Decades later they continue to creatively fuse folk, jazz, blues and other influences. Jacqui McShee’s voice remains rich and uniquely beautiful. It still has great passion and that light, earthy quality which continues to haunt long after the performance is over.
