Rams’ Pocket Radio – 1+2

| On 25, Mar 2012

Rams’ Pocket Radio is Peter McCauley of Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Taking his name from 1950’s product designer, Dieter Rams, the multi-instrumentalist brings us 1+2 as a follow-up to the successful debut single Dieter Rams Has Got The Pocket Radios.

Despite not having an album to his name he’s garnered broadsheet press attention and performed at Glastonbury as well as the more recent arena support for Snow Patrol.

1+2 is a hard-hitting single that makes McCauley’s background of playing in both an orchestra and later hardcore bands apparent. It’s pounding, piano-based pop that’s clever but simple enough to connect with mainstream audiences. The combining hooks of a strong chorus and guitar riff ooze the potential success of this single but much is owed to the production, making it radio-friendly without the drivel.

1+2 is out on Monday 26th March.
