Seth Lakeman’s new album release on April 2nd

Celebrated folk singer-songwriter, former Mercury Prize nominee, and virtuoso fiddler Seth Lakeman will release his 6th album ‘Tales from the Barrel House’ on April 2nd 2012 on Honour Oak Records.
Having sold all 10,000 copies of a limited edition version of ‘Tales FromThe Barrel House’ in just 5 weeks when he made it available to his miling list before christmas, the album this April will get a full release.
Nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2005 for his ‘Kitty Jay’ album, ‘Tales from the Barrel House’ see’s seth returning to his Devon roots. Recorded at Morwellham Quay mining port on the north bank of the River Tamar, tracks were recorded in workshops located in the quay. One track even saw Seth descend into a disused West Country copper mine to record a vocal and banjo take.
Recorded with just one sound field microphone, Seth not only wrote all the songs, but played every musical contribution himself, as well as producing and mixing the album.
He will be touring the UK in the coming weeks (see below).
