I Am Nimdok – The Wave. The Raven. The Invisible Dream.

I Am Nimdok are a one-man band consisting of British based Ryuki Akira who has zero intentions of following any crowd. Combining a range of influences together and ignoring any technique provided, Akira’s sound has become a much more personally developed one. His debut EP “The Wave. The Raven. The Invisible Dream.” consists of 6 tracks each taking their own shape from start to finish.
Opener ‘Primagen’ brings the EP into a very industrial sound that thrashes about almost whilst ‘Freeland’ and ‘7’ seem to go the same way only they meander nicely to a much more mellower sound towards the end of the tracks.
The stand out track on the EP goes to ‘Endless’ which is a lot more enigmatic and calming brushing through the track in an almost delicate form, challenging pretty much everything already on the album.
With another release already on the horizon, it’s worth stepping back and pondering is Akira going a little too fast to keep up even with himself? “The Wave. The Raven. The Invisible Dream.” is a relatively average release for a debut; it’s all good only it lacks that flare that makes it stand out. Hopefully we’ll see more of I Am Nimdok and he’ll continue to improve.
