Deer Tick – Free download and new album news
aaamusic | On 13, Mar 2012
Deer Tick is proud to announce the UK release of their new album ‘Divine Providence’, available on April 2nd via Loose Music. ‘Divine Providence’ is the Rhode Island quintet’s fourth album in just five years, and is the first release recorded in their home state.
It’s a follow-up to their fantastic ‘Black Dirt Sessions’, which New York magazine called “flat-out great,” and inspired the Late Show with David Letterman to give the band its network television debut.
The band are also releasing the Tim EP, which sports unreleased material from the ‘Divine Providence’ sessions, including an acoustic version of album track ‘Main Street’. This version captures John McCauley playing it for the first time, as he had finished writing it only minutes before recording. An aural butcher might call this piece of meat “rare”.
The EP will be included as a free CD with the first 1,000 copies of the ‘Divine Providence’ CD sold and will also be available to buy digitally from April 2nd.
The band will be embarking on a European Tour throughout March with a London date confirmed for the Garage on April 4th 2012.
