CA Smith – Time

At a point in our lives we get the feeling that although we are good at something, we could be better at something else. A testimonial to this sentiment is CA Smith.
For 15 years CA Smith earned his stripes performing as one-man band, Mayor McCa. Despite his success in this field an epiphany and little help from his friends led him to believe his one-man band antics were distracting from his true capabilities as a songwriter.
The Canadian moved to London, England before recruiting a band made up of Slow Club’s Charles Watson, The Magic Numbers’ Sean Gannon and Nathan Holme’s Nathan Holme.
‘Time’ is his first single and justification of his change in musical direction. This time round it’s a folk-friendly brand of delicate and eccentric music. Despite opting for the more traditional band setup, CA Smith refuses to dismiss his former one-man band creativity and ensures plenty of surprises along the way. He has a great story and this is a lovely little song. I’m sure the canuck will enjoy the better part of his music career in England.
Time is out now.
