Turnpike Glow is an Anglo-Italian indie rock and electro group. It comprises: Sandro Schiena (vocals/guitar/keys), Giuseppe La Mela (vocals/bass/keys), Anthony J. Hutchinson (drums), Jeremy Levy (guitar/keys) and Tom P. Griffiths (guitar/BV’s).
Their previously praised single The Turn, The Pike and The Glow, was released at the end of 2011.
Turnpike Glow is releasing 1986 on March 5th, 2012 on Fünke Pop Records. It’s directed by Mazin Power and Daniel Bariagaber. The track has been mixed by Dave Newfeld, respected producer of Broken Social Scene, Los Campesinos and Super Furry Animals.
Critics of this single might feel that the story line is clichéd and contrived and the vocals too high pitched. They might also dislike what they see as an undecided and unclear style. Loyal fans of the group will probably find this a, punchy, quirky and chirpy song. They’ll focus on the fun, refreshing feel and the edgy, catchy hooks.
