Nina Nastasia announces intimate UK March/April shows

Nina Nastasia flies into the UK and Ireland to perform three solo shows later this month, the first for Opera North in Leeds, followed by London and Dublin dates, performing selected material from her entire catalogue.
Often described as “lean”, “sparse”, “delicate”, these adjectives do not capture the spirit of her most recent long-player. Recorded with Steve Albini, ‘Outlaster’ (FatCat, 2010) is a work of gothic beauty and lush sophistication that, with no loss of distinction or economy, transcends the reach of Nastasia’s famed spareness. Nina is an artist of pervasive, quiet influence currently undergoing a sea change in musical form and her work continues to startle and intrigue even Nina Nastasia obsessives. Laura Marling finds in her ‘…a kind of openness I admire. You know she’s not going to break down at any moment, and there’s something very empowering about that’. She is, to quote Interview Magazine, “the rare artist who creates a new form from which others will copy.”
Live in March/April:
Saturday 31st March – Howard Assembly Room, Leeds
Monday 2nd April – The Macbeth, London
Tuesday 3rd April – Whelan’s, Dublin
