“A full-on slam-out of sex and distortion that makes your head rock-out! Indie Music news

“People in years to come will say I was there at Cold in Berlin’s gig at the Hoxton bar and Kitchen AAA Music

On Monday 5th March 2012 Cold In Berlin will be releasing their new single ‘…And The Darkness Bangs’ / ‘The Lie’. Late 2011 on a diet of Electric Wizard, Sonic Youth and Swans, Cold In Berlin retreated into a studio which was the former home to a Mental Hospital. Buried deep in South East London it straddled a nearby Cemetery and in a desolate site that was only occupied by squawking Ravens and the deeps woods that surrounded it they enlisted the help of producer James Aparicio (whose credits include Depeche Mode, Spiritualized, Grinderman and Liars) who helped sharpen their already visceral sound.

With the single  in hand they finished off the year supporting Goth legends Diary of Dreams at the o2 Academy in London to which online tipsters AAA music remarked afterwards “This band is the best undiscovered secret and the record industry is going to have a bidding war over them”.

After the highly successful debut album ‘Give Me Walls’; London based No Wave/Punk whirlwind Cold In Berlin then released their ‘White Horse’ EP which was given the remix treatment by Producer Pete Baker, Witch House exponents Heretics and a heavy dub step makeover by Drum Cunt; which is possibly his last work in the UK now he has relocated to Japan.

Live they offer an incendiary energy reminiscent of early grunge and even earlier no-wave, yet the noise they make is all their own. Creating delightfully sinister hooks that will bond your blood cells to the dark side then release them straight into your head with gloriously pounding crescendos, like Siouxsie Sioux smacking you in the face with a Mudhoney Record.

“A dark whirlpool of noise” Mojo

“White Horse is probably exactly how Courtney Love thinks Hole sound” Q Magazine

“This band is the best undiscovered secret and the record industry is going to have a bidding war over them” AAA Music

“With its half hour of aggressive hooks and punch in the face immediacy, we need albums like ‘Give Me Walls’ at the moment”***** Artrocker  (Top 20 albums of 2011)

“Give Me Walls never slows down, never takes a breath” 8/10 Loud & Quiet

“10 tracks of Sex-punk energy” Rock-A-Rolla

“My, whose voice breathes heavy stories of volatile sexuality perfect for wrapping animalistic howls around” 7/10 Rocksound
