The Stone Roses and The Killers Headline V Festival 2012
aaamusic | On 27, Feb 2012
The Stone Roses and The Killers have been confirmed as the headliners at this year’s V Festival.
The reunited Manchester band, who had been widely tipped to top the bill at the bash since announcing their reformation last October, will play at Hylands Park, Essex on August 18 and Weston Park, Staffordshire the following night (19), with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds taking to the Virgin Media Stage before them. The Killers and Snow Patrol will play the northern leg on the Saturday and the southern leg on the Sunday.
The gigs are Ian Brown and co’s first confirmed English festival dates of 2012, and also the first gigs announced by The Killers this year.
Brandon Flowers and co have been working on their fourth album in recent months and are expected to play new material at the shows.
Other names on the bill include Nicki Minaj, Happy Mondays, Friendly Fires, Frank Turner and The Ting Tings.
Tickets go onsale on Friday (March 2). See Vfestival.com for more information.
