Days is The Drums’ new single from Portamento. The Euro-retro feel of the song is a strong plus, making it sound like a cloudy day on a beach in Nice in the 1950s. The song’s melancholy mixes well with a certain degree of confidence: “And our days go by, and I never needed you”  is the main refrain, and you can’t help but enjoy this bitter juxtaposition. The lyrics are typically simple yet incredibly effective, as is The Drums’ fashion. An instant classic.
