Ideals Unveil Album Details
aaamusic | On 16, Feb 2012
Originally formed by Andrew Major (vox/guitar), Ben Ward (drums) and Simon Wilson (bass) in Ipswich, Suffolk, Ideals relocated to London, and welcomed Ben Smith (guitar) to the line-up in order to create a fuller sound, better suited to their brand of dark, melancholic indie.
New single ‘Altar’ combines Major’s unique vocal, which simultaneously mesmerises and soothes, with infectious melodies and mature lyricism to create an atmospheric, emotive track. Sourcing inspiration from bands such as The National, Interpol and The Cure, ‘Altar’s brooding verses escalate to a powerful, heartfelt chorus.
‘Altar’ is the first single to be released from Ideals’ new seven-track mini-album ‘Let Your Anger Leave You’, available now digitally. The release of ‘Let Your Anger Leave You’ tops a stellar two years for the band, which has seen them support artists such as Pete Doherty and The Automatic, embark on a European tour, and feature on a Fierce Panda six-tracker EP.
