Noel Gallagher, who is the recipient of the NME Awards 2012 Godlike Genius Award, is confirmed to perform at the iconic ceremony which take place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Wednesday 29th February. Also set to perform on the night are Kasabian and The Vaccines whilst Florence Welch and The Horrors are gearing up for a very special collaboration. The NME Godlike Genius Award is the highest accolade bestowed at the NME Awards and his performance will be the culmination of the evening. The nominations were revealed earlier this week, Noel will also be vying for four other gongs, including Best Solo Artist and Best Album for ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will release a new single “Dream On” on March 12th. The special b side of the single will be “Shoot A Hole Into The Sun” – the first track to be released from the work Noel has recorded with the Amorphous Androgynous.
