The Supermen Lovers – Between The Ages
aaamusic | On 18, Dec 2011
Finally another album for Guillaume Atlan and The Supermen Lovers, a legend of French Touch and Electro-Funk, comes out and respects the high expectations. The author of Starlight impresses with an album that is a perfect mix of cohesion and versatility. Atlan resumes 30 years of disco music getting the best from the past and looking towards a retro-futuristic utopia of sound. Mind-blowing synths that remind of the pop escapisms of Lindstrom and Christabelle, as in Take A Chance, and over-the-top crescendos, as in Keep The Funk Alive, make Between The Ages a masterpiece of electro-pop.It’s hard to find a more entertaining album this year, Between The Ages deserves a place in every ‘best of 2011’ playlist. After Daft Punk, Justice, and Joakim, the French Touch has its new king.
