“Mystery” is the lead single from Don Scannell’s debut album “Three Silver Pieces”. It will be officially released on the 5^th of December, but until then fans can enjoy the unique video created by Paul Callanan which reflects the dreamy, whimsical nature of this song perfectly. “Mystery” begins with a confident drum beat which is soon followed by soft guitars and piano which lay the foundations for Scannell’s stunning vocals.

The lyrics, vocal delivery and subtle harmonies are what really make this song special. There is much layering in the vocal line which gives this song a Simon and Garfunkel feel while the constant upbeat drums allow the song to maintain a modern feel.  This song progresses gently over the course of four and a half minutes to culminate in an emotional middle 8 section where the backing vocals repeat “hold up your heart” and Scannell layers his vocals over giving the song a fitting magical ending.
