Susie Soho – Twelve Twenty Seven EP

After releasing a blinder of an album, Susie Soho have a lot to live up with when it comes to Twelve Twenty Seven. Previous album, Where All The Ladders Start, was stacked full of memorable choruses and pounding riffs that made Susie Soho the sound they can call their own.
Self-described as the probable love child of Dave Grohl and Gemma Hayes if it happened, Susie Soho are here to impress with brand new EP Twelve Twenty Seven.
Opener Your Way or Not At All gives that noticeable Twin Atlantic feel married alongside with a head bopping riff. It’s the ideal opener to the EP, the accent slides through into vocalist Tony Fitz’ calming yet exciting vocals.
Leading through into Stand Up, released as a single prior to the Irish election, it’s possibly the best song on the EP. It presents a chorus that isn’t hard to get stuck in your head and it’s driving feel that deliver a bloody good punch in the face song.
Following Stand Up comes Making Taste and Eye To Eye both of which contain elements of traditional Irish rock mixed expertly with a booming alternative vibe that you can’t help but “bop” along to.
The combined work of guitarist Niall, bassist Jason and drummer Mia that accompanies Fitz’ lyrics have such a powerful effect making the EP one of the best ones of the year.
With an incredible discography, appearances at Irish festival; Oxygen, and an established Meteor award, Susie Soho are a band well on their way.
