Alphabet Backwards is an acoustic indie electro group from Oxford. There are a 5 piece: James (guitar harmonica frog-glock vocals), Bob Tom (computers keyboards), Steph (vocals), Paul (tambourine & drums) and Josh (bass).
Their many influences include Ben Folds, Guillemots and Magic Numbers. British Explorer, their new 3 track EP will be released on 28th November, 2011.
Big Top is a joyous, happy number which encourages you to tap your feet whilst Tonight is a fun loving, energetic and romantic song. Taller boldly tells ‘about seeing an ex-girlfriend on the street with her new boyfriend, feeling belittled about it and wondering if she still misses you, prefers you to the new boyfriend and wants you back’.
To fans, these catchy numbers are infectious and charming to the extent that there’s something special and brilliant about them. Certainly the cover is abundantly colourful and jolly.
