Having already been lauded as one of NME’s Best New Bands of 2011 and one of Spinner’s Top Acts from SXSW 2011, New York three-piece High Highs have announced news of their debut release. The stunning self-titled EP will be released on November 21st through Rocket Records.
Vocalist Jack Milas and electronic producer Oli Chang started High Highs in Australia in 2009, but it was only when they both found themselves working in New York a few years later, that they began to think seriously about the band and swiftly enlisted the talents of Zach Lipkins to join them on drums.
Soaked in rich harmonies, layered vocals and sweeping synths, the four tracks are an enthralling introduction to the trio’s signature sound. But High Highs also exercise restraint when it comes to production and relish the minimal element in their music; the resulting EP makes a beautifully subtle statement that harks back to a purer and more innocent time of youth.
Having previously played SXSW, CMJ and supported the likes of Jose Gonzales and TheRadio Dept, High Highs will be making their debut on UK shores later this year.
