The first ever Artrocker Awards will take place on the 2nd December 2011 at XOYO venue in London’s ever-popular Shoreditch.
The jam-packed Artrocker Awards will unveil the winners of fourteen unique nomination categories (listed below) at a VIP invite only award ceremony hosted by Jen Long (Radio 1) starting at 1pm on 2nd December at XOYO. London’s very own Bombay Bicycle Club lead the jam-packed nominations with four nominations in the – Band of the Year, Album of the Year, Live Band of the Year and Single of the Year categories after an outstanding 2011, whilst experimental Brooklyn-ites Battles are up for three awards – Best International Band, Album of the Year and Video of the Year.
The evening of the 2nd December is set to see Shoreditch shake as Artrocker Awards then expand to take over the whole 800 capacity XOYO building for THE ARTROCKER AWARDS LIVE SHOW, filling its two rooms with the best live music from 8pm til 3am!
Celebrating the REAL talent of 2011, Artrocker is known for its honest guide to music and the Artrocker Awards will be just that – the music industry’s true guide to what was great in 2011. Everyone is welcome to the Artrocker Awards Show, which takes place the same day as the Awards Ceremony. Starting at 8pm, the celebrations will go well into the night as the party continues until 3am.
Marc Sallis, Editor, Artrocker says, “A lot of awards these days are made to fill up time on TV and fill pages in glossy magazines spreads, Artrocker aims to make its first-ever awards about the music, the bands and giving the public a great gig with a line-up that will recall the heady days of The Brats and inject some much needed drunken fun and rock’n’roll back into the industry. The inaugural Artrocker Awards are cutting back the ever-expanding gloss and going for the true spirit of music; there will be no fireworks, stage tricks and countless re-takes, it’s quite simple Rock’n’Roll in its simplest and rawest form.”
With all of the early bird tickets already sold out, general admission is still just £15. Winners and nominees from the awards will perform live in the main live room in XOYO and the Gallary Bar will feature other award winners and nominees DJing.
Tickets are available now for the Artrocker Awards Live show and can be bought from www.xoyo.co.uk/event/artrocker-awards, See Tickets and Ticketweb.
