‘Future Hits Live’ show comes to Scotland with Pixie Lott

| On 07, Nov 2011

Bauer Media is delighted announce that Edinburgh’s Liquid Room will be playing host to the second in a series of special music events for pop lovers on Friday, 11th November….’Future Hits Live’.

Behind the event is Bauer station The Hits Radio – the UK’s biggest commercial digital radio station, with over 1.2 million listeners and 100,000 facebook fans, which prides itself on being the authority on the hottest new pop music. Future Hits Live will showcase the station’s hottest tips for the future – Rizzle Kicks, Cover Drive, Angel and local girl Nina Nesbitt – with core The Hits Radio artist Pixie Lott headlining on the night. Chris Younie, host of flagship show ‘You Call The Hits’ says: “After our first Future Hits Live in the summer went so well, we’re really excited to be heading up to Scotland for show number two! We’ve got a brand-new line up of exciting new talent and are all looking forward to getting ‘Down With The Trumpets’ with Rizzle Kicks, as well as discovering new music from Cover Drive and Angel. I’m also delighted that Pixie Lott is joining us as I remember playing ‘Mama Do’ for the first time back in 2009 and getting a huge reaction. She’s now sold over 1 million records so it’s great she’s doing the show with us, a station that has loved and supported her right from the start. ”

With over a million record sales, and three number one singles Pixie Lott is a favourite of listeners to The Hits Radio and one of the UK’s most successful female pop stars. Future Hits Live will be a special show for Pixie as she celebrates the release of her 2nd album ‘Young, Foolish and Happy’ that very week. Brighton boys Rizzle Kicks set the charts alight this summer with their perfectly timed debut single ‘Down With The Trumpets’ which spent 8 weeks in the top 20 and was championed early on by The Hits Radio. Their energetic live show is not to be missed. Cover Drive sizzled their way into the charts with their infectious debut single ‘Lick Ya Down’. Their Bajan heritage means the 4-piece combine Caribbean sunshine-drenched music with infectious pop hooks. Freshly signed to Island Records and launching in 2012, London soul singer Angel has quietly been releasing underground singles this year to steadily build up a dedicated fan base. He’s also a talented songwriter having written Roll Deep’s chart topping ‘Green Light’ as well as tracks for Jason Derulo and Pixie Lott.

The latest addition to the bill, Edinburgh singer songwriter Nina Nesbitt is not yet signed, but currently being chased by a variety of major labels thanks to a strong online following. Confirmed to tour with Ed Sheeran and Example, we look forward to welcoming a true future star to a show in her homeland. The Edinburgh event is the second in a number of intimate gigs showcasing new pop acts at different venues across the country. The first show in the Midlands featured Wretch 32 and Tinchy Stryder as well as new talent Six D, Oh My! and Soundgirl.
