Ringo Deathstarr – Shadow

| On 06, Nov 2011

Only few weeks after a UK tour promoting compilation Sparkler, Texan band Ringo Deathstarr come out with a new EP, Shadow.

Shadow’s four songs come in the name of continuity, still faithful to the references of Kevin Shields and MBV. That said, Ringo Deathstarr here abandon the reminiscences of Jesus and Mary Chains and experiment more extreme forms of shoegaze, as in Prisms, best song of the lost, where echoes of Slowdive and LovesLiesCrushing drift through the fuzzy distortions and the angelic voice of Elliott and Alex.

Ringo Deathstarr will support Billy Corgan and the Smashing Pumpkins in their next weeks of European tour: a well-earned reward for a trio that stands up as one of the few noteworthy shoegaze revivalists.
