Piatcions – Senseless>Sense

| On 06, Nov 2011

“Senseless>Sense” the debut album from Piatcions was released on September 5th through I Blame The Parents- a relatively new London record label. 4 piece band Piatcions describe their music as “Psych Space NuGaze”. Don’t know what that is? Well, their sound is basically a fuzzy, psychedelic pop sound with lots of drone and reverb effects.

“Sleepless” almost sounds like it could be an anthem for insomniacs- a dreamy, hazy kind of a song that has a punchy kind of energy and attitude despite the psych elements to be heard. “Milk and Honey” is one of the most melodious songs on the album with a solid song structure and a fun syncopated rhythm with the steady percussion giving this song a pop element. “Singapore Mon Amour” begins with a guitar riff that could have been lifted straight off a U2 record but soon slips into the more familiar territory of Piatcions signature style.

This album is all about trippy vibes, hypnotic rhythms, distorted vocals, swirling, well blended vocal harmonies and psychedelic guitars that create a massive wall of sound. An almost perfect album for shoe- gazing lovers with a luscious, rich sound throughout.
