**Catherine AD // Announces special show at The National Portrait Gallery**

| On 19, Oct 2011

Following her tour of churches in 2011, Catherine AD has confirmed a new year show at The National Portrait Gallery in central London. This special show takes place on January 20th 2012, and will be the first chance to hear tracks from Catherine’s forthcoming debut album. The currently untitled record is pencilled for release in late Spring 2012 and is produced by Paul Draper (Mansun).

The National Portrait Gallery show will also feature the all-female string ensemble who appeared on Catherine’s mini-album, ‘Communion’. The seven track collection of songs, recorded in a single day at Church Studios, was released this week via Outsiderhood, garnering an 8/10 review from the NME:

“…atop string backing, she captures the moment after the bawling ends – when natural opiates flood the brain and much more complex emotions and sensations ensue… ‘Grow Out’ sounds like an Anglo-Celtic Tori Amos discovering the joys of Michael Nyman. Add to this a surprisingly stunning, pared to the bone version of Lady Gaga’s ‘Telephone’ and you’ve got a mini-album that’s really worth crying about.” – NME 8/10
