Tellison is an indie rock quartet from West London. It consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Stephen Davidson, lead guitarist and vocalist Peter Phillips, bass guitarist and vocalist Andrew Tickell and drummer Henry Danowski.
Their first album Contact! Contact!, released in 2007, received much praise from many sources. Tellison are a cult alternative, underground band with a touch of punk. They release their new single Edith, from their second album, The Wages of Fear on October 2nd, 2011 on Naim Edge Records.
Edith refers to Edith Wharton, the author who had devoted readers and won the Pulitzer Price in 1921 for her novel The Age of Innocence. Her writing was harsh, humorous and known for its dramatic irony, but now it’s not quite so fashionable.
This is a clever, emotional, powerful and well crafted song which takes a contemporary look at the crises of a young adult inspired through an early 20th century author. It takes the pain, disorder and disenchantment of reality and contrasts it with the satisfying world of fiction.
Accompanying the digital single release of Edith will be a numbered limited edition 7” vinyl, with a b side from Manchester’s TCTS, the Sound Cloud Remix Competition winner.
