Thomas Truax’ September song now posted, plus farewell UK tour due to expiring visa

Grandmother’s Advice for September, this month‘s song from Thomas Truax, is available on his PledgeMusic page, and he’s going to package all 12 tracks from this year’s Monthly Journal into a full album, to be released along side a 2012 calendar and remix CD of reworked tracks from the Sonic Dreamer album.
Thomas Truax offers ‘The Slinkopator’ and ‘Grandmother’s Advice’ for September’s installment of his Monthly Journal Project
The SLINKOPATOR is a one-of-a-kind SLINKY incorporating Mini-Spinster that Thomas Truax built for a pledger in his ‘Sonic Dreamer’ fan-funded album campaign. While constructing this creature he did some recording of it’s rhythms has now used this as the backbeat to the September installment of his ‘Monthly Journal’ album-in-progress.
There’s a video of the Slinkopator in action on line at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqJqNCQgsas
(Keep an eye out for the fish!)
The Monthly Journal project is a living, mutating organism taking place in twelve intervals over 2011. Tracks are influenced by, written, recorded and released within the window of each month. It will be launched as a full album in January 2012. This new album is also being ‘fan-funded’ via a campaign on Pledgemusic.com.
While there are no custom-made inventions on offer this time around, a pledge as small as £6 gives subscription-like access to each new song as it is completed and special pledger-only exclusive tracks, with full-album download in January. 2012 Calendars featuring the cover art from each month’s installment, a remix CD, as well as full hard-copy deluxe cds are available for slightly higher pledges.

The September song is based on observations of a town square in which a wedding was taking place, and some overheard ‘advice’ from a Grandmother.
The story seems to lie somewhere between Sergie Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin and the Mack Sennet comedies of the silent film era, with a middle-eastern instrumental feel. Pronounced tension may have something to do with American Truax’s emminently expiring UK visa and plans to move to Berlin in November, which will certainly have it’s influence on the remaining songs.
