Memphis’ Nick Burk, aka Acid Glasses, is all set to release his new single on Stroll On Records on 10th October. The final of the three tracks on the single, ‘Happy Accident’, has now received the remix treatment from London’s Mafia Lights and Stroll On cohort Pyramid Vritra.
Taking the tracks core of swirling, psychedelic synthesisers and Burk’s Avey Tare-isms, Mafia Lights put their tropicana-at-the-fairground stamp on proceedings as they build towards a before twisting the beats and basslines beyond recognition into a salacious melee of sounds. Pyramid Vritra (OFWGKTA, Jet Age of Tomorrow, NRK) then welds the track into some kind of nauseous trip – a slant on his own ambitious track. Warping Burk’s high pitched tones into something far more sinister and disconcerting and stripping the song of its percussion proves a master stroke of purifying Burk’s own hedonism.
Acid Glasses will be bringing their live show to the UK for their first time in October, appearing at the Binnacle Festival on 15th/16th October.
