The Wonder Years will be joining Yellowcard and Saves The Day on their co-headline tour of Europe in November/December. The band will also be playing a couple of headline shows of their own whilst over on these shores again.
Dan “Soupy” Campbell (vocalist in The Wonder Years) is certainly looking forward to playing shows with Yellowcard and Saves The Day. He says – “When I was 14, I stole a shopping cart and took it door to door collecting cans to win a radio contest so that Saves the Day would play my high school. We won. When I was 15, I saw Yellowcard play a church basement in Philadelphia. Sean, the violinist, back-flipped off the stage to the ground. To this day, it’s still one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen a band do. The Wonder Years have a long history of loving Saves the Day and Yellowcard. They influenced the band we are today and we couldn’t be more excited to get to join them on a tour through Europe.”
The Wonder Years recently completed a headline tour of the UK which saw them play sold out venues across the country. This followed a stint on the Vans Warped Tour in the US. Their last trip to the UK was earlier this year as part of the Kerrang! Tour but the band have toured here many a time, crossing the ocean totally off their own backs and enthusing their ever-growing fanbase with unique pop-punk brilliance time after time.
Inspired in part by Allen Ginsberg’s 1956 poem “America,” The Wonder Years’ new album Suburbia I’ve Given You All And Now I’m Nothing is an introspective, heartfelt, and honest journey that tells the story of a growing culture of people in America trying to find their place in the world without compromising the beliefs that make them who they are. With intelligent lyrics accompanied by the catchy, raw, and driving pop punk that fans identify with The Wonder Years, Suburbia is both a cultural manifesto and a great summer album that will serve as the anthem for anyone questioning where home really is. Suburbia I’ve Given You All And Now I’m Nothing, was produced, engineered and Mixed by Steve Evetts at Omen Room Studios, Garden Grove, CA.
