Stockholm based Skudge have without doubt taken the underground House and Techno scene by storm over the last few years. They have taken the stealth approach and blueprint of running their own artist label with minimal promo and press and simple branding to cultivate a fairly anonymous and mysterious image and identity that somehow suits their muscular and raw sound. Skudge’s sound is without any doubt Techno that sits very comfortably in the bowls of Berghain however it also has a warmth, deepness and groove that means it appeals to House heads to with its hypnotism. Tracks like Mirage, Phantom and re-works of their music by the likes of Rolando (used on the 10 years of secretsundaze compilation just a few months ago) have gained them much respect. Their live show is comprised of lots of analogue gear which of course looks great on stage and contributes to that more rough, warm, human sound.
Our second guest Fred P has become one of the most respected “new” DJs breaking through from New York. We say “new” because he has plied his trade for many years but in terms of his notoriety he has really only broke though the last few years with a string of excellent, timeless releases on his own imprint SoulPeople music and other quality imprints such as Laid, Strength and Japan’s Mule Music. Fred’s productions really are quite sublime with tracks such as “Emotive Vibrations” and of course the classic “New Horizon”. On top of this and most importantly for us is one badass DJ really causing a reaction from most people that catch him spin. His set at secretsundaze closing party last year was a definite highlight and we were informed he stole the show at this years Free rotation festival in Wales, the line up which reads like a who’s who in deep House and Techno.
So with one of the most fun dates in the calendar, the meeting of Two of London’s best House and Techno parties, a great venue in central Shoreditch, and a killer line up we can safely say this should be a very special party. Tickets are on sale now on Resident Advisor. You know what to do.
