St. Spirit – Build A Life

Build A Life is the assertive, bold yet tender, debut single from south London indie rock group St. Spirit. They’re fronted by idealistic songwriter and guitarist Myles McCabe and co-songwriter and guitarist Sam Robson.
It’s really very good. There’s casual charm to the sad and painful verses which contrasts with the striking chorus and huge riffs. In style and sensitivity this is a little like Snow Patrol or Coldplay.
About themselves they say: Inspired by Loveless. From Crystal Palace. Recorded in a living room. Rehearsed under a train. Dark and wonderful.
The video to the song is a good old school style ‘cut out’ nautical animated story about life and death. It’s beautiful, panoramic and a great accompaniment to a song that builds into a crescendo of hope.
Not yet in their twenties, but with great insight, it’s quite possible that their popularity of these guys will grow to acquire a large fan base. St. Spirit play these live dates: September 27th – The Bowery, London (residency) & October 20th – The Enterprise, Camden, London.
